I have been friends with Amy for a couple years now and believe me when I tell you this … she is the sweetest lady you will ever meet in your whole entire life.  She has a HUGE heart and everyone who meets her instantly falls in love with her. I’m sure this is exactly what happened when Dave met her. I’m sure it was all over for him once he realized Amy was not only beautiful, but was also so genuine and … well …. just plain awesome. I was so stoked when they asked me to photograph their wedding last weekend. They are so much fun and their wedding was so perfectly them.

Amy and Dave … I’m so lucky to call you my friends and I’m excited for this new chapter that is starting in your life. I wish you, and your sweet girls, a lifetime of love and many blessings. Love you guys!

I know I have said this before, but I really love my job … especially on the days I get to work with children. There is just something so pure and captivating about kids and I always try to capture that in my images. This past weekend I photographed some of the.cutest.kids.ever. I am usually pretty good at getting kids to feel comfortable around me and my camera but the kids I photographed on Saturday made my job so stinkin’ easy. Every single one of them was SO happy. There were no tears, no tantrums, no meltdowns … it was nothing but smiles and nothing but fun. This is going to go down as one of my favorite days ever.

Meet Jacob. This little guy just melts my heart. He is so full of life and his big blue eyes just make him irresistable. There was a family having a birthday party at the park during our session and they were kind enough to let us borrow a few balloons for a couple shots.img_4507

I was so excited when I got this shot … but THEN …img_4614

Oh my goodness … he had to go and curl his lip and give me the “elvis” look. Ok, I officially can’t resist him now.img_4617-2
Yep, I’m done for.img_4584

And then there’s Logan. We became fast friends … even though he made me chase him half way around the park. hahaha.
img_4346

He was cracking me up because he wouldn’t sit still in my chair. I got some great shots of him next to the chair …img_4431

… and then he REALLY cracked me up when he did this:img_4468

Logan just became a big brother! This is his sweet baby sister, Cassidy. She just turned 4 weeks old. He was sooooooo sweet with her. img_4406

Speaking of sweet baby girls … meet Lizzie! img_4771

She was so fascinated with the train tracks!img_4696

Seriously people, can you get any happier than this?img_4763

Thank you to all the families who came out on Saturday. I’m sure there will be a TON more photos to share from these sessions. I’m having a really hard time deciding on my favorites. I hope you all enjoy your sneak peeks. Your galleries will be ready soon!

Joely: Sarah, you took some great photos!!! You are a truly gifted and blessed photographer. I just love how you captured Jacob! Thank you so much for doing this :)

Brianna Phelan: The 2nd last shot is freaking adorable - perfect moment :)

As many of you know, my son Cade was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a form of childhood cancer, when he was 9 months old. We are blessed to be able to say that our little guy is healthy and doing well today. A good friend of Cade’s, Madeleine, is currently battling the same type of cancer. Madeleine’s mom is running a half marathon in order to raise funds to find a cure for childhood cancer. Her goal is to raise $2,000 but I think we can rock this and do SO much better than that. Please click here or click the link below to support Amber’s fundraiser. All funds will go to CureSearch, which works with the Children’s Oncology Group to find cures for childhood cancer.

Please take the time to make a donation, no matter how large or small. Every little bit helps. Cade is alive today because of the awesome doctors and medical research that have been funded through organizations like this. Don’t put it off until tomorrow … it will only take a couple minutes of your time.

Thanks in advance for your support. We love you all!

Sylvia Borgo: Thanks for posting this important information. Yes! We must find a cure!

Simeon: Thanks, I believe you all will rock that $2000 out of the water!

beautiful. I just can’t stand it sometimes. I want to pinch his little cheeks and squish his little face. He’s just so darn loveable. And beautiful. I wish he could stay this little forever. *sigh.

We had an amazing time this weekend on our family vacation. Well, actually it was a “staycation.” We stayed at the Grand Pacific Palisades Resort in Carlsbad for the weekend. We hung out at the beach, went to Legoland, and just relaxed. It was great! I wish every day could be a vacation. I will post more about our trip soon and I have some more sneak peeks coming (this weekend I have 7 sessions back to back … yikes!) But, in the meantime, I leave you with this …

just beautiful.

“A mother’s love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity, it dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path.”
– Agatha Christie

I love this child.

Before I became a mom, I thought I had a pretty good grasp on what it meant to love someone. Then this wrinkly, blond-haired baby came into my world and all of my previous thoughts on love were thrown out the window. For the first time in my life I knew what it felt like to love someone so much that you would gladly give your life for their sake and not even think twice about it. I experienced the fierce need to protect and nurture another human being. Everything became alive to me. The world looked different. People looked different. My husband looked different. I was different.

I love this child.  I love everything about him. I love his little voice that calls out to me each morning when he wakes up. I love his little hands that wrap around my neck. I love his sweet little toes (especially when he uses them to pick things up … this is a trait he has inherited … we call them “monkey toes” … it’s a gift.) I love his laughter. I love the sweet songs that he sings (he recently made up the “mommy song” and it is so stinkin’ cute.) I love the way he smells when he gets out of the bath. I love the way he takes a bowl of spaghetti and devours it like it’s his own personal mission in life to finish every last bite. I love his fierce personality. He lives life to the extreme. When he’s happy he exudes extreme joy … and when he’s upset he exudes extreme sadness.  There’s no middle of the road with him. I love his curiosity and desire to explore things and learn things. I love that he helps me make his daddy a lunch every morning. I love listening to him say his prayers. I love watching him dress himself each day (even though it takes for.ev.er) and they great pride he finds in his accomplishments. I love that he is just like his momma and loves the great outdoors. I love that he loves tractors and farm animals. I love that he loves music. I love his sweet little kisses and the way he says “I love you Mommy.”

I love this child. He makes each day a little brighter and each moment a little sweeter.
