I first met the S Family in 2012 when big brother Logan was only a few days old. I was so excited when I learned that they were expecting baby #2, this time a girl, and even more excited when they asked me to photograph Riley during her first few weeks of life as well. I love working with the S Family because they’re all so genuinely kind and you can tell they have a lot of love and respect for each other. And they’re FUN! I love it when families are fun. : ) So, without further ado, I introduce you all to Riley. A sweet little thing who has nothing but amazing things in store for her.

Spring is definitely in the air! The weather has been getting warmer, things are looking greener, and everything is in bloom. This is without a doubt one of my favorite seasons. I had the opportunity a few weeks ago to meet up with the F family for a quick mini-session. I loved the awesome light during our session and these two little girls were sweet as pie. So much fun!
I met up with the Y family a few weeks ago to do a maternity session before their new baby arrives. Maternity sessions have always been on the top of my favorites list. There’s so much joy and anticipation when a family is expecting a new addition. I first photographed the Y family a couple years ago and it’s been so fun watching their son grow and now watching their whole family grow. And, can I just say, I really treasure families that value maternity photos. I didn’t take any professional photos during my first two pregnancies, but when I was pregnant with our third baby I asked a very sweet and gifted photographer friend to capture images of this fleeting time in our family’s life. Looking back at the images from my own maternity session, I realize how important it is and I’m SO thankful that I have those photos to cherish. In fact, as I type this, I’m staring at 3 gigantic canvases from that session. Such treasures my friends!
The handsome big brother:
And I couldn’t help but include these last few. We were fininshing up with our final images on the bridge and this was supposed to be a photo of just mom by herself. As I was snapping away I caught a flash of blue out of the corner of my eye. I got a good laugh out of these when I saw them. As a mom of three boys myself, I can absolutely relate to moments like these. : )
I’m excited to announce we have added a date of Spring mini-sessions for Saturday, April 12 in the morning. The exact location will be determined once the date gets a little closer, but I do know it will be a field/nature area. Hopefully we’ll get lucky and the bluebonnets will be in full bloom. Keeping my fingers crossed! Click here to go to the sign up page. There are only a few spots available so be sure to book your session soon before they all sell out.
I wanted to share a few of my favorite images from my session with the B family that was held at the beginning of the month. We’ve had a relatively mild winter in San Diego this year, but I love the way the winter light brings a bit of a frosty glow to everything.
