Rachel and I became friends back in early 2007, shortly after becoming first time moms. We actually “met” through an online parenting website and would spend countless hours chatting via gmail messenger (seriously cool, I know … this was before the smart phone era though). Neither one of our sons slept well and we found solace in each other’s sleepless nights. Our friendship grew and before long I counted Rachel as one of my very best friends. I would often fly out to Austin to visit and she came out to San Diego several times to soak in the great weather (which, by the way, I’m missing greatly right about now). Our boys met for the first time when they were only 18 months old and now they’re EIGHT! Cade and Griffin never skipped a beat whenever they saw each other. They always seemed to just pick up right where they left off. Now that we’re living in Austin, I’m so thankful we have these sweet friends close by. Genuine friends like this are hard to come by. People who just know you and get you and love you for who you are. Over the past 8 years, we’ve experienced a lot of life together. A lot of good things (more babies, countless Disneyland trips, birthday celebrations, holidays, beach trips, road trips) and a few hard things (a cancer diagnosis, a spouse passing), but through it all we’ve had each other’s backs. Life is a little more bearable when you have a good friend to experience it with, that’s for sure. Rachel and Matthew are getting married soon and I can’t even tell you how excited I am for them. We got together before the holidays to capture a few family and engagement photos. I had a difficult time narrowing down my favorites, so be prepared for photo overload. I love how these turned out though. Matthew, Rachel & Griffin … thank you for allowing me to be part of this adventure called life with you. I can’t wait to celebrate with you. : )

A super fun family in a gorgeous field with a beautiful sunset. You just can’t go wrong. It was great to meet up with the M Family a couple weeks ago for a mini-session. I love it when families value photographs together and take the time to capture these moments. M Family, here are a few of my favorites!
Sometimes in life, you come across friends who are incredible treasures. Friends who are sincere, genuine, and radiate light wherever they go. Carmen is one of those friends. I was incredibly excited when she asked me to photograph her family, as well as her extended family, over the Thanksgiving holiday. This was our first holiday in Austin, away from our family and friends back in San Diego, and it was fun to hang out with another California native. We had great weather (which I have found can be hit or miss in Texas … the wind can be the death of a session) and a glorious sunset with the most vibrant orange and red hues. I was in heaven. So much so that I kept shooting well after the sun had already set. It was awesome and I have to say, I enjoyed every second of it. P family, here are a few of my favorite images from your session. Thank you for the fun time spent together. You all are awesome!
This little guy is just the best. Ryan and his mom started out as clients of mine in San Diego. Then, they moved to Texas. I was so so sad when they moved away. Ryan has such a sweet spirit and our sessions are always full of laughter. And he gives THE BEST hugs in the whole entire world. So, I was really bummed when they moved away. But, when my family moved to Austin, TX this past summer, Ryan’s mama realized we’re only a couple hours away from each other. YES! I can’t even tell you how excited I was when she emailed me to book this session. We met up at one of my favorite fields in Austin and took advantage of the gorgeous natural light. Ryan’s little buddy also came along for the session and I captured a few hilarious shots of a sneak kiss attack. Ah! So much fun was had. : )
It seems like just yesterday I photographed this sweet little girl’s first year portraits. And now, here she is, 4 years old and so full of spunk and character. Aliza is funny, adventerous, incredibly sweet, and definitely the apple of her mama’s eye. It’s always a joy to hang out with these two. Here are a few of my favorite images from our most recent photoshoot together. I’m already looking forward to the next one!
