Hello. I’m Sarah of Sarah Jayne Photography. A big welcome to my website.

 

I’ve always been interested in photography from an early age, but it never crossed my mind, back then, that I would eventually make a career out of it.

 

As is often the case with a youthful passion, life can get in the way. Working full time since leaving school and raising two children solo meant that my photographic ambitiions were put on the back burner. But when my children left to make their own way in the world that I started taking photos. Initially using phone cameras and small digital cameras, I soon outgrew them and worked my way up to a professional DSLR with a growing collection of high end lenses and accessories.

 

As is the case with many of us, I started out taking scenic photos of the local area and it wasn't long before my friends showed a keen interest and asked me to take photos of special events and family portraits. I was very honoured to be commissioned to take the official photographs at a friend’s wedding, which is where I discovered a real and genuine passion. The challenge of capturing moments from a very special and emotional day and being able to present the couple with a visual record of one of the most important days of their lives is something that I find a particular joy in.

 

I still enjoy scenic photography - I’m lucky enough to live in an area that boasts some of the most beautiful coastline and countryside, offering dramatic sunrises and stunning sunsets.
